Creating Caryatis Gold
At Caryatis Farm, Laine & I join Alayne Peterson in a beautiful few days of exploring natural dyeing.
I have a degree in fiber & material studios from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago... meaning I studied natural dyeing and all things fiber in school. Since Graduation in 2008 I have done tons of self-discovery & learning from dye masters and tinkerers around the world.
This was my first time dyeing with Goldenrod, and it was such a lovely reprive from the electrical, mechanical, and water systems engineering of the boat and van.

I’ve never hosted a dye retreat before… so here goes.
Sept 27-29, 2024 at Caryatis Farm in Wisconsin.
A weekend of magic at the place where Beauty Grows stokes your wildness as a thing of power, nourishing the connection with time, energy, movement, and nature can re-establish sweet flow into your life.
In taking a weekend to commune with Artful living, I hope you will find more depth in living and practice as I have. ♡
I guide you through one of my favorite processes- natural dyeing!
Dye your own silk veil with natural dye plants gathered from the area - tbd depending on what is available! This process takes a full day at least- harvesting, sorting, boiling, straining, mordanting, dipping, rinsing, washing, hanging. You take it home to dance with at the end of the retreat!
Additionally, we'll have classes and connections to nourish ourselves between the dance of the dye process.
Rituals will pepper our days as we ground into autumnal rewilding.
Fire circles will be opened both evenings for participation or witnessing. First burns are welcomed.
Caryatis provides Fri dinner - Sun lunch & accommodations in their big home, camping in the fields, or possibly, a trailer.
