Gaea fell in love with sailing on St John in the Virgin Islands in 2023 and changed her whole life towards living on a sailing vessel. Taking classes in Chicago and apprenticing on Uptown Girl, she is eager to step into the engineering and new learning necessary for an off grid adventure lifestyle.

Find her and more of her story on Youtube, Patreon, and Instagram.

“Aruna”

In 2024 we bought our van Aruna in Florida & took an inaugural trip north to Chicago, Gaea’s homeland. “Aruna” means moonlove in Japanese

Built out by Gregory of Rad Times Campers, this full solar pop-top camper rig feels like a treehouse home. Framed out on a Ford Econoline 150, she is rugged and ready to go from mountains to beach.

SV Uptown Girl

We adopted our sailboat that same summer in Chicago, unexpectedly when we thought we were going to try out boat life for a season.

SV Uptown Girl is a 1977 Morgan Outisland 33 - a beautiful old boat that is deserving of a lot of love. So, we’re renovating this lady as part of our fleet.

She’s been a freshwater Great Lakes boat most of her life, and our plan is to take her to Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas and beyond!
