Using Silk Veils to Activate Sensuality
Pussy Magic: Using Veils as a Sensual Practice
While I am a performer-creatrix-nurturer at heart, I have cultivated an intentional lifestyle, forged in embracing self love as an act of radical transformation.
I’ve been developing, sharing, and teaching my knowledge for so long that I sometimes forget that what I live and breathe every single day is a brand new concept for many people. It’s revolutionary.
Pussy Magic can clear a room.
Yep, there’s that word again. A phrase that is so natural to me, but I dropped it in front of some people that didn’t really know me well recently, and the nonplussed look on their faces was, to say the least, highly amusing.
Pussy Magic. Say it out loud. (Maybe twice.)
How does it make you feel? You’re going to be hearing a lot about it in the coming future. In our first blog post, I shared the mystery of Pussy Magic, and one way to connect to the deep, innate feminine inside of you is through sensuality—connecting to your senses—and using your sensual power, freely and unapologetically, as often as possible.
You do not require anything extra to activate your own sensuality. Yet there are so many incredible tools available to us for engaging our senses and turning us on. One of my favorite tools is the silk veil.
Veils and uncovering the deep feminine.
Veils are swaths of fabric that have been used in many cultures for thousands of years. There are many practices and meanings around veiling, but right now I explore how they are used as symbols for covering and uncovering the mystery of what is held inside a body or an object.
Veils can be used to shield and protect what lies “underneath” from the mundane eye.
When someone “unveils”, they are revealing or uncovering what was previously hidden from view. And, in this case, we’re talking about the feminine mystery. Pussy Magic.
Veils and Sensuality.
Dancing with a veil involves all of your senses. You also have the added challenge of using a piece of whirling fabric that flows with your gorgeously moving body. And yes, YOUR body in motion is gorgeous—let go of expectations of how you think you ought to look and revel instead in what you CAN do with this fleshy container that is yours.
You must lead—and follow—the veil; let it become both partner and lover. The fabric both conceals and reveals in delicious ways. Move with, against, and after it. Be fearless when using a veil. Not only can you do it, you will enjoy it. Tremendously.
Connecting to flow state.
Dancing with a silk veil allows you to get out of your head (“analytic brain”) and into your body (“feeling brain”). This is where the great emotional activation occurs: when you open towards present-moment living. You are firmly in breath and body, using your own unique movement to surrender into your own unique flow.
Flow state, sometimes called being in “the zone,” is that sweet spot where you’re in pure enjoyment, where inspiration flows and time goes by in an instant, leaving you feeling energized, focused, and calm.
Flow is also our connection to spirituality, to oneness and all-that-is, or whatever you like to call it: God, Godx, Goddess, the Divine, Spirit, and so many more. Dancing with a silk veil (or any veil) gets you into a timeless space where you connect with oneness, the present moment.
Surrender into deep knowing and tap into an energetically ancient way of accessing your core feminine intelligence. Your pussy magic.
Can I really dance with a veil?
Yes! To begin, find whatever piece of cloth or fabric that you have. It does not have to be silk. Gather a gorgeous curtain, a bedsheet, a scarf, a large skirt, a tablecloth. You just have to like it. Turn on a favorite piece of music, one that gets you into a groove.
Tune in to the quality and the essence of the fabric you hold within your hands. Breathe. Focus your senses on the experience of being here and now in this moment.
Drape the fabric over yourself. How does it feel to be covered? Ponder what mysteries you contain within your being. Feel the temperature shift, the fabric on your skin, your breath held against your face. What do you smell?
Listen to the sounds of the music, and move your body under the fabric to the rhythms, letting what you hear guide you.
Peel the fabric slowly away from your body in any way you choose. Listen to the sound, and focus only on that sound.
Allow the fabric to fall into your fingers, and without looking at it, pull the fabric over your skin, letting it send ripples of sensation through nerves into your brain. Feel this.
Wave and waft the fabric around yourself, allowing tangles to happen and then slowly, intentionally disentangle. Accentuate your sense of sight—notice the color of the fabric and surrender to the interplay of color, light, and shadow, as the fabric whooshes and whirls.
Dance. Surrender and activate your senses and stay present in them for as long as you can. How do you feel?
Remember, no judgement! When using veils, always approach them with a sense of joy and play. Enjoy yourself; enjoy the veil. Have fun and get playful and curious. Laugh. Be sexy. Be serious. Dance around the room. Twirl the veil, slide it, drag it. Do whatever you want.
