Color Theory: Silk is your petal!
How do you wish to express yourself this spring?
COLOR is the name of the game, in my world as I work with flowing as a creatrix onstage and off. How I create a costume often begins with a color, a veil that I’m flowing with a lot, or a something I’m super attracted to. Sometimes, it’s the color I find myself resisting wearing or working with.
COLOR THEORY:
I often work with color in my performances and life, leaning into creating and dancing with certain hues that inspire me to do healing in certain areas of my life and body.
Red: root, invigoration, passion, sensual, grounded, belonging.
Orange: pelvis, creativity, sensuality, digestion, emotion.
Yellow: belly, solar plexus, diaphagm, personal empowerment, breath.
Green: heart, love, emotion, expansion, compassion, fortitude, growth.
Teal: throat, speaking truth, vigor, clarity, actualization.
Blue: water, change, expression, emotion, clarity, calm.
Violet: third eye, royalty, intuitive, divine connection, healing
White: infinite potentiality, blank canvas, spaciousness, light, ache.
Black: infinite potentiality, deep canvas, rest, shadow, comfort.
Neutrals: earth, grounded, flesh, softness, healing, beauty, nourish.
SO, which color are you working into for your future self? Where is your comfiest color? What color scares you, or feels least like you?
Take some time and notice in your life what colors make you FEEL certain things.
Or what color your wardrobe is, and ask “why”? Why does wearing this color make me feel a certain way, or not?
Then, try on some colors that may not seem in alignment with “you” as you currently are… but see if they might inspire you to be the person you want to be. More compassion? more heart? more strength? more divine connection?
And as always, reach out to me and let me know what you’re thinking! that’s the best part.
