Class description: Silk ripples like water & flows like air. It is strong, supple, sensual, and steeped in history, stories, process, and myth. Combined with light and movement, silk invokes dramatic magic for the human senses.
Join Gaea Lady in this exploration of movement with silk: learn specific patterns, philosophies, and techniques to integrate dancer with fabric. We explore dynamic whips, dreamy floats, infinite-recursive spins, weaves, drapes, wraps, and improvisation to ignite the senses and tap into the unique creativity within each of us. Students will dance with unweighted veils & will also learn the basics of manipulating Gaea’s specialty weighted veils.

The source of creativity, inspiration, sexuality, and power resides in our hips. So much is stored within our pelvic girdle : bones, intricately woven muscle tendons and tissues, sexual organs, energetic centers, and the mysteries of that which what we cannot see.
In this quick paced & energetic class, we connect to the source of our pelvic power while Perfecting bumps, grinds, pops, shimmies, and undulations. Merging many forms of dance together : burlesque, bellydance, indian, hip hop, and jazz : to ultimately let loose and dance the divine within each of us.
Open to all levels and experiences, and genders. Come with an open mind. Wear clothes that make you feel great and that you can move and get sweaty in. No Spectators!
